Friend has been banging on about getting the vive. Went to try one out in one of the three or four pcworlds that have one to try. Result = Not high enough res, needs to be 4k, wires everywhere. Nvidia 980 at least really required. We both have 980ti's which are only just good enough. At 4k they won't be good enough..
